REVIEW : WAYWARD SONS --- Ghosts of Yet to Come (2017)

Wayward Sons is the brand new project/band of Frontiers. The band's leader is the well-known Toby Jepson of the legendary U.K. act Little Angels. Toby gathered around him a bunch of some very talented musicians and formed Wayward Sons.

The sound of Wayward Sons can be described as classic heavy rock which is strongly influenced by the sound of the 70's hard rock scene. Jepson's voice is on top form, the guitars are sharp and the rhythm section is tight as hell.

This debut kicks-off with the solid "Alive" and "Until The End" which brings back the sound of the classic Little Angels (although a bit rougher). I really liked these tracks a lot and I also liked Jepson's vocals. I love Little Angels and I have to say that I missed Toby's voice all those years. So, this band is a welcome back for this great musician. "Ghost" rocks good while the modern rocker of "Give It Away" includes a nice chorus and a more aggressive vibe in it. With "Crush", Wayward Sons deliver another punchy rocker and with "Be Still" we have a clear winner!!! "Small Talk" is just another killer track out of this debut!!

Wayward Sons with their debut record brings back the classic heavy rock sound of the late 70's, early 80's.  with power and freshness. Toby Jepson (Little Angels) still delivers some amazing vocal lines and, in general, "Ghosts Of Yet To Come" is an essential purchase for every rock fan in general.

Rating : 7/10
