REVIEW : Mean Streak -- Blind Faith (2017)

To be honest here I had high expectations from this release. I don't know why but I was really looking forward to listening to Mean Streak's newest opus with the title "Blind Faith". And after the first spin all my expectations were fulfilled positively!! Man, this is a great and solid piece of pure melodic hard rock/metal bliss that includes amazing guitar work, powerful vocal lines and a bunch of some killer tunes in it!

But, before starting my review, let's see a couple things about the 'who is who' Mean Streak. The band was formed in 2008 by Peter Andersson. The general idea was (and still is) to write classic metal straight from the heart. The first song written was "Rock City" which is found in the band’s debut album. After the necessary line-up additions, the band took flesh and blood and together as a band released the debut record which was entitled "Metal Slave". "Declaration Of War", the second album was released in 2011 and again received positive feedback from both fans and press. Two years later, in 2013, Mean Streak released a new opus with the title "Trial By Fire".

So, nowadays, the band is ready to unleash its brand new record and believe me.....this is gonna rock your world for good! "Blood Red Sky", the opener, is the first solid sample of Mean Streak's music. Classic melodic metal that features great arrangements, superb guitar riffs and solos and passionate vocal lines.

With the next song "Animal In Me" we have the first killer moment out of the new album; more melodies, more crazy riffs n' solos and with a huge chorus line this tune grabs you at once and leaves you hungry for more! "Tear Down The Walls", "Tears Of the Blind" and "Love Is A Killer" are all three killer melodic metal hymns that are made for big arenas! "Fire At Will" is a true metal gem in an old fashioned way and "Caught In The Crossfire" includes a great groove in it and a mind-blowing guitar solo!!!

Mean Streak with their brand new "Blind Faith" delivers a loud, heavy, guitar-driven and with a late 80's classic metal vibe record that can't be missed by any serious metal freak out there!!!

Rating : 8,5/10
