REVIEW : LEAVES' EYES / Fires In The North (EP, 2016)

German Symphonic metal band Leaves' Eyes is gonna release this November its brand new EP with the title "Fires In The North".

This new EP features Elina Siirala as the band's new singer, after the departure of Liv Kristine. The new track, "Fires In The North" is a typical Leaves' Eyes song and includes all the band's classic elements. I, also, have to say that Elina is doin' a fine job regarding the vocals here and fits perfectly with the rest of the band. Her operatic voice abilities are amazing and she opens new horizons for the band. Next, we have an acoustic version of "Fires In The North" which is very similar to the opening, a bit more atmospheric I would dare to say. The EP, also, features the oldies "Edge Of Steel", "Sacred Vow" and "Swords In Rock" that the new singer put her own signature to these classic tunes.
All in all, this EP is a very good introduction with Leaves' Eyes new singer, Elina Siirala and opens a brand new chapter in the band's history.

Rating : 8/10
