REVIEW : BE THE WOLF / Rouge (2016)

Be The Wolf is an Italian heavy rock band that was formed in 2011 in Turin. Their goal was, and still remains, to play their solid heavy rock stuff. They released a bunch of singles, videos and an EP and received positive feedback from both fans and press.

In 2015, Be The Wolf released its debut record, "Imago", and once again the gained positive comments. The band has received tremendous support by the most important music media outlets, including MTV, Virgin Radio and Rolling Stone, and were invited to perform in Japan, where they received the prestigious “brightest Hope Award” by influential music magazine Burrn!.

The music here is, as I already mentioned above, heavy rock with 'crunchy' guitars, powerful performances and solid arrangements. The late 70's influences are obvious and characterize Be The Wolf's music and overall I have to say that the final result is a very pleasant listening all the way.

Highlights here? I think that this new album, which is entitled "Rouge", is full of well-crafted songs and each track surprises, in a positive way, the listener. If I had to choose a couple, or more, songs from the new record, those would be the modern "Animals", the groovier "Blah Blah Blah", the 'atmospheric' "Down To The River" and the 'punchier' "Rise Up Together". Very very interesting album all the way!! "Rouge" is an album that every serious rock fan should check out!!

Rating : 8,4/10
