REVIEW : TEMPERANCE / The Earth Embraces Us All (2016)

As a big fan of the Italian band Temperance, I'm delightful to present you the review of their brand new record which is entitled "The Earth Embraces Us All". The new opus is without any doubt the band's most mature work to-date. And as Chiara Tricarico, singer, commented: “This is without any doubt the most complex and mature album we’ve ever done. It basically gave us the chance to add many new elements to our music".

"The Earth Embraces Us All" takes Temperance to the next level. Mature, bigger but, at the same, time remains true to the band's influences. The opening track, "A Thousand Places" proves my above comments in the best way. It's a heavy and aggressive modern metal anthem with great arrangements but, at the same time, so melodic that leaves a sweet taste in your ears. "At The Edge Of Space" is a more fast-paced rocker that includes an extremely catchy chorus line and Chiara's superb vocal lines.

In "Unspoken Words", the band enriches with more 'colors' its music and the result is simply breathtaking. The chorus line is once again amazing. "Empty Lines" and "Haze" are both excellent pieces of pure modern melodic hard rock/metal stuff at its best. Both tunes shows the direction of the band to the explore new territories.

"Fragments Of Life" is a more commercial tune that, in my humble opinion, it must be a major hit!! "Revolution" is movin' to the 'safe' AMARANTHE, Within Temptation paths while in "Advice From A Caterpillar" we are dealin' with yet another killer track.

All in all, this is a fine modern melodic metal album and one of this year's best at its kind. If you are into female-fronted modern metal stuff, then look no further and check out this great record. And one last thing; Temperance with this new release is aiming for bigger things!!!!

Rating : 9/10
