REVIEW : CIRCLE OF REASON / Faith Or Theory (2016)

Circle Of Reason it's a modern hard rock band that hailed from Southampton, UK, and nowadays is ready to unleash its brand new record (EP) which is entitled "Faith Or Theory". The band is strongly influenced by bands such as Deftones, Funeral For A Friend, Biffy Clyroand and Mastodon and through its career have shared stages with acts like Feed The Rhino, Marmozets, Neck Deep, Mallory Knox, Creeper, Allusondrugs and Fearless Vampire Killers.

After the first spin of "Faith Or Theory" I have to say that I really enjoyed every single minute of it!! It's a heavy, 'dark' and modern stuff that it's played with attitude and heart and soul and that's a thing that I like to hear from new bands.

The opening tune of "Never Enough" is the first BIG sample of Circle Of Reason's music. It includes a melancholic and 'dark' 'touch' that is mixed perfectly with all the heaviness and melody and at the end leaves you breathless! In "Questions" the band becomes more aggressive while in "My Emergency" the alternative pinches along with the haunting melody are givin' the extra push to become a personal favorite. But the most beautiful and interesting moment out of the new record is without any doubt the mid-tempo rocker "In Other Words". It's one of these songs that sticks in your mind at once and makes you wanna push the repeat button again and again!! The melody, the arrangements, the performances....everything here is perfect!!!

All in all this is an extremely interesting release all the way. It rocks in a unique and a bit different way than my ordinary stuff but it rocks! Check it out!

Rating : 8/10
