REVIEW : W.A.N.T.E.D. / God's Best Sinners (2016)

Greek hard rockers W.A.N.T.E.D. are ready to strike back with a new album with the title "God's Best Sinners". The band that was formed in 2011 in Thessaloniki(GR.) has already released one demo ("Shit Happens" in 2004) and two full-length album ("Neon Nights" in 2007 and "Meat N' Greed" in 2016) and nowadays they are ready to unleash the album that, in my humble opinion, will take them a step higher.

For those who aren't familiar with the band's sound, let me tell you that W.A.N.T.E.D. 's music is heavenly influenced by the golden era of the U.S. Hard Rock scene. But, in their new record, they are mixing some new, more modern elements and the result is "God's Best Sinners" which is really really good.

The heavy riffing "Eats You Like Pray", the opener, is a straight forward rocker that must be played out loud while in "Joanna" we have a simply killer commercial tune with a super catchy chorus line!! More groove in "The Remedy" (which is among my personal favorites) and, for sure, more muscle in "Sign Of Life", "Merciless" and "Good To Be Bad" makes the first-half of the new album an extremely enjoyable ride. Next, "Something To Do With You" is an average track while in "Never Get Me Alive" the band delivers another pedal to the metal gem with a huge chorus line!! But for me, THE MOMENT of the new opus is the simply breathtaking "The Last Time". A darker modern rock monstrous tune with a haunting melody that made me pushed the repeat button again and again!!!!

As I already mentioned above, "God's Best Sinners" takes the band into a new higher level. I like that W.A.N.T.E.D. experiment a little bit with new elements and took their sound to a new dimension. A big bravo!!!
