It all started in 2011 when Eddie LaValle and Logue started writing songs and sharing their passion and love for music and especially for the golden era of hard rock based on bands such as Dokken, Def Leppard e.t.c. Paul recommended his friend Schulz to be the band's lead shouter! Eddie was blown away by Carsten's voice and he knew right away that this was the band's voice!! As the recordings started, some songs needed a strong dose of keyboards; the mighty Alessandro DelVecchio was the next add to the LaValle camp!!
"Fading Like The Sun" is a really impressive opener; a big guitar sound, a huge hook and chorus and overall everything sounds perfect in this great starter! "Scared To Love" has a totally late 80's vibe in it and features once again a memorable chorus line, passionate vocal performances and a stunning guitar work!! "Don't Cry" is good while in "One Day At A Time" we have an awesome melodic mid-tempo rocker with a memorable chorus line and a very nice melody!! A true highlight from this debut! "Cry Of The Wolf" is heavier tune and another great sample of pure late 80's, early 90's, hard rock stuff with attitude. Next, "Lucky Ones" is moving to some more AOR paths with an incredible sweet melody, a blasting solo by Eddie LaValle and brilliant performances. "Smoke And Mirrors" and "Rock Your World" are both gonna really rock your world while in "Break Your Heart" we have an absolute stunning power ballad in an old-fashioned way and probably one of the best tracks from this album!! "Wait To Long" closes the album in such a perfect way; another mind-blowing mid-tempo tune with Carsten's performances in front row and LaValle's superb guitar lines!
All in all, this is a really impressive debut album! "Dear Sanity" has everything that an ordinary hard rock fan could ask; huge harmonies and melodies to die for, catchy and memorable choruses, heart-full and passionate performances and an amazing guitar work!! Plus a late 80's hair-metal, or pop-metal, sound with a solid production and there you have a brilliant release all the way! Highly recommended!
